Language Assessment and Therapy
Children and teens who struggle with language skills are at a huge disadvantage.
Expert language therapy can give students a chance to thrive in school, work, and life!
How I evaluate language skills:
Areas tested. I evaluate for listening comprehension, oral expression, social communication, and if needed, reading and writing skills.
Language skills are very complex and need to be carefully assessed to find the root of the challenge. I customize my evaluations based on your concerns to create an individualized treatment plan.
Everyone has a different set of strengths and weaknesses that may or may not show up on standardized tests. I always include functional activities, clinical observations, and client reports in addition to standardized testing to get a complete picture of skills.
How I treat language disorders:
Functional and holistic approach. I design every activity to be functional and use multi-sensory learning to increase engagement.
Individualized. Each student has a unique learning profile and I plan every therapy activity to reflect those needs.
Academic support. Many students need support for academic skills such as following multi-step directions, writing answers on tests, and making inferences.
Language therapy can unlock a student’s potential. Find out the root cause of your child’s difficulties with a language and literacy evaluation.
